In our next BMW i Pure Impulse Culinary Series event, we’re introducing you to a match made in heaven: cheese and sake.

Together with chef, sommelier and ex-restaurateur Ursula Heinzelmann and fermented-food expert Walter Britz, you’ll discover new flavours as you taste high-end Japanese sake with the finest European cheeses and explore new dimensions of aromas, textures and, of course, that real depth of flavour: umami.

During this exclusive event – which was tailored specially to delight true food connoisseurs – you will savour four carefully selected, finest-quality sakes from Japan, including one that has not yet been introduced to the European market, along with four delicious different cheeses and senbei rice crackers from the old imperial Japanese city of Kyoto.

Your host for the evening, Ursula ‘Heinzelcheese’ Heinzelmann, is an independent scholar and food historian based in Berlin, Germany. She works as a freelance wine and food writer, specialising in cheese. She has published several books and acted as area editor for The Oxford Companion to Cheese. She is the trustee director of the Oxford Symposium on Food and Cookery as well as curator of the Cheese Berlin festival. She will be accompanied by the Japan External Trade Organization’s Walter Britz, who, having lived in Japan, will share his insights.

This is the perfect event for foodies and those looking to discover new flavours and to learn more about the perfect match that is cheese and sake.
