AFRICA. MARRAKECH, MOROCCO.
In the 11th century, monarchs of the Almoravid dynasty introduced irrigation to Marrakech, enlivening the city with gardens still seen today. Fittingly, Amanjena pays tribute to this vital element by making water a focal point of the resort’s meticulous design, from the large central basin to reflecting pools and marble fountains, even in guests’ private gardens. Eight of the 32 guest pavilions and all of the six ‘maisons’ even boast private swimming pools, perfect for relaxing while contemplating Almoravid ingenuity.
