Since the inception of the BMW i Pure Impulse Program in 2014, hundreds of guests have enjoyed a special behind-the-scenes look at the birthplace of their BMW i8 – so it should only be fitting that the 100th BMW i Pure Impulse event was held in Leipzig.

Guests from eight nations, including throughout Europe, the United States and South Korea attended this year’s edition of one of the program’s highlight events.

A grand reception awaited them upon their arrival at The Westin Leipzig hotel: a BMW i8 Roadster had been parked in the hotel lobby, drawing much attention from all arriving guests.

The program kicked off right away: one group of attendees were taken to the BMW Plant Leipzig for expert workshops and an exclusive in-depth tour, while others explored the city with the help of several different personalized city tours.

In the evening, everyone came together for a welcome dinner at the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Falco, which is located at the 27th floor of the hotel. Besides a fantastic ten-course flying dinner, guests also enjoyed mingling with each other and several high-ranking BMW officials in attendance, with the impressive Leipzig skyline as a backdrop.

The next day, more plant tours, workshops and city tours were on the agenda. On top of that, guests also had the opportunity throughout the whole event to get to know another member of the BMW i family – and the city – during test drives with either a BMW i3 or a BMW i8 Roadster.

The pinnacle of the event was a festive gala dinner at the Kunstkraftwerk, a former power station turned creative hub, on the second evening of the event. During the aperitif, guests were amazed by a 3D immersion art project which got everybody talking and got the night off to a great start.

In addition to the excellent food and beverages on offer, there was also plenty of entertainment: the latest BMW i Pure Impulse Best-Of movie was shown before Dr Peter Henrich, Senior Vice President BMW Product Management gave attendees an outlook on the future of the BMW i brand. After main course, the evening’s guest speaker Magnus Lindkvist offered a different glimpse into the future: the futurologist, author delivered a captivating insight into what life, society and business might look like in days to come.

The party went on late into the evening, with guests dancing the night away to the tunes of a DJ or enjoying a chat and a drink at the vermouth tasting bar.

Guests left the next day excited about what they learned, saw and experienced over the course of the event, with many already planning another event attendance in the future.
