On 25 June 2020, the last 18 BMW i8 vehicles left BMW Group Plant Leipzig in Germany, each finished in a paintwork colour that had not previously been applied to the outer skin components of a BMW i8. “For BMW i8 production to end with a finale like this is something we can all be very proud of,” said Plant Director Hans-Peter Kemser.
KITCHEN TALK: THREE RECIPES TO INSPIRE YOUR NEXT CULINARY ADVENTURE.
In a BMW i Pure Impulse exclusive, some of our favourite chefs, who’ve created unforgettable moments for us over the years, share their top recipes and personal messages, so you can re-create their most popular dishes at home.
Take a look behind the scenes and explore the fascinating world of one of the most iconic camera manufacturers. Leica has long gained its status as a legendary brand, with a range of high-end products that are popular with collectors, professional photographers and those starting out.
Just in time for barbecue season, chef Andi Tuck shows BMW i Pure Impulse members how to prepare seafood over an open fire. In this exclusive video, he not only shares his pro tips, but also talks through the importance of sourcing sustainably caught fish. “The love I have for seafood turned into an obsession, and the importance of using sustainable fish and fresh local ingredients reflects in my dishes,” says the chef, who heads the kitchen at St Kew Inn, located in picturesque Cornwall, where most of his dishes are cooked over an open fire.
The Tate Galleries in London and Cornwall offer wonderful insights into British art, history and culture. Tate Britain, which first opened in 1897 displaying just a small number of artworks, is today the custodian of the national collection of British art from circa 1500. Tate St. Ives, perched above Porthmeor Beach with views across the Atlantic Ocean, exhibits work by modern British artists with links to the area and is the winner of the Art Fund Museum of the Year 2018. Meanwhile, Tate Modern, located at the disused Bankside Power Station, focuses on contemporary works since 1900, with its vast original turbine hall used for regular commissioned temporary displays of jaw-dropping proportions. Even if you’re a regular to the galleries, there is always something new to see and explore.

Time to head back to school! Fun is king at the BMW Performance Driving Schools in California and South Carolina. You’ll get to test some of the newest BMW models as you learn to drive safer and master a range of difficult manoeuvres with ease. The BMW Performance Centers are divided into various schools – each tailored to a different kind of student – offering one- or two-day classes led by experienced instructors. Teenagers are invited to kick-start their motorised future at the Teen School; the Adult Car Control School teaches all the tips and tricks you need for a better driving experience and more confidence on the streets. The M School is all about dynamic driving – the curriculum, for example, includes drift training as well as braking and lane changes at maximum speed. Both performance centres offer one- or two-hour training sessions that give insights into the lengthier full-day events, so you can choose one that suits your schedule.
During this training day, teenagers gain valuable driving experiences, engage their senses and push through their comfort zone. Vehicle handling, quick judgment and accident-avoidance skills are developed in a controlled environment with a BMW-certified instructor observing and coaching via radio. Each vehicle is shared between two students who face real-world driving conditions and scenarios such as emergency braking, lane changes, distracted driving and more.
